Appointment of Prof. Jun-Ming Zhang as A New Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine

 
 
Boston — (October 22, 2017) Evidence Based Communications (EBC) is delighted to announce that Professor Jun-Ming Zhang is going to be a new Associate Editor-in-Chief, focusing on the area of pain medicine, of the Journal of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine (JAPM). 
 
Professor Jun-Ming Zhang has been an Editorial Board Member of JAPM since 2014, whose astute editorship has made the journal become more international over the past 4 years.
 
The name of Dr. Jun-Ming Zhang will appear as “Associate Editor-in-Chief” on the website at www.japmnet.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=editorialboard and under “Editorial Board” in the front matter of the journal. The appointment is initially for three years commencing on October 22, 2017.
 
With Dr. Jun-Ming Zhang's new role in the JAPM Editorial Board, the journal is expanding and having seven Associate Editors-in-Chief globally, which is very important step for JAPM to be stronger.
 
Dr. Jun-Ming Zhang is currently the Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Anesthesiology at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. 
 
Dr. Zhang has 20 years of biomedical research experience including 15-years of experience in neuroscience and pain research. Dr. Zhang's research interests focus on neurological and chemical mechanisms of chronic pain including low back pain and neuropathic pain conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Dr. Zhang was also involved in the development of the dorsal root ganglion compression model. He invented a method for local drug delivery to the normal and pathological lumbar ganglia in small animals that can be used for drug assessment in vivo.  
 
Dr. Zhang's research has long been supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has published around 60 peer-reviewed articles and has been invited to edit books and write review articles and to give presentations in many universities and programs nationally and internationally. Dr. Zhang has been a NIH Study Section member for many years involved in reviewing grant applications related to somatosensory and pain.
